    A man faces multiple life sentences after being found guilty in a 2019 rape and robbery in Shafter.     Bakersfield College will be holding an open house at the Shafter Learning Center on Aug. 4 to give the public information on the services that they are offering for residents.     The Kern County Sheriff's Office lost one of their own Sunday after a standoff left five people dead. Deputy Philip Campas, 35, was killed when a suspect opened fire during an incident on 1st Street in Wasco.
