Richland's Terrific Kids at Kiwanis

The Kiwanis Club of Shafter recognized outstanding Richland School District students at the November 14th Terrific Kids luncheon. The students recognized this month demonstrated the characteristic "respectful."

The Terrific Kids program recognizes outstanding students that exemplify characteristics that help them become productive students. Each student is nominated by a member of the school staff and is honored once a month at the Shafter Kiwanis Club Terrific Kids Luncheon.

Golden Oak Elementary School Assistant Principal Raymond Carr introduced Erandy Manzo. Erandy is an outstanding sixth-grader who most exemplifies respect at the school. She strives to influence others to behave.

Redwood Elementary School Assistant Principal Janean Johnson presented Emmy Aguilar. Johnson said Emmy is the most respectful young lady on campus, who follows all of the school's "character qualities." She is very self-motivated and self-disciplined.

Sequoia Elementary School Principal Frank Flores introduced Brooke Parten and Alexis Esparza Ponce. Brooke and Alexis work as a team. They are always positive and eager to help, Flores said. One task that they volunteer for is to fold all the jackets that have been collected in the lost-and-found.

Finally, Richland Junior High School Principal Rosa Romero presented Frankie Castro and Natalie Molina. Romero said that Frankie supports other students in the classroom and is an active member in the school band and that Natalie is always volunteering and likes to express herself.
