True Value set for ribbon cutting

True Value Hardware in Shafter is inviting the community to attend its grand opening celebration that will take place next month, complete with fun activities and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. According to store manager Mohammed Mohsen, the celebration will begin on Friday, August 2 with special deals on a variety of items in the store. The celebration will continue on Saturday with a full slate of activities.

On Saturday, there will be fun activities at the location, with food; the ribbon-cutting ceremony is to take place at 10 a.m. There will be several prizes given away to lucky attendees as well as great bargains to be had inside the store all weekend.

The Mohsen family has called Shafter home for 20 years. They have a market on Los Angeles Avenue, La Favorita, that has been a mainstay of Shafter when it comes to all of your food and beverage needs. Owner Abdula Mohsen and his family decided to expand their businesses and open a store that would save the residents of Shafter the trip into Bakersfield for home supplies.

True Value has an inventory of items that will fit needs when it comes to home projects. There is a complete inventory of paints, tools and parts for the home, such as supplies for electrical, plumbing, and woodworking projects. If you require copies of keys, they have that covered. Need supplies for your lawn and garden projects? You can check that off your list right here.

In addition to an array of building and repair supplies, they also carry sporting goods, pet supplies and even clothing. "We have a little of everything here and we are still adding inventory," manager Mohammed Mohsen said. "We listen to the needs of the people and are working to fill all of those needs."

The staff of the store is friendly and are ready to take care of your specific needs, be it home improvement items, gardening or landscaping equipment or clothing, and they even have a variety of barbecues on display.

Mohsen was interviewed this past week and commented that business has been very good, and they love the community of Shafter. "It is such a wonderful place to live and do business. The community is great." Mohsen also said that he has seen an increase in the sales of emergency supplies in the aftermath of the Ridgecrest earthquake, and he assured that they would keep those items in stock for residents who are wanting to be prepared for an unforeseen event such as that one. "We will be ready to fill those needs, whatever they may be, to make sure our customers are prepared for whatever comes."

The True Value Store is located on Central Valley Highway right next to Apple Market.
