ANNOUNCEMENTS

Libraries closed -- All Kern County Library branches are closed March 17- April 30.

Most events and meeting cancelled -- All group events and activities will be cancelled until further notice.

Community church services -- Contact your church and check for live online services. Most services are cancelled or online.

Spring Clean-Up is postponed – The event set for Saturday, April 25, at the Shafter Aquatic Center will be rescheduled at a later date.

Family Justice Center: 661-868-8410.

Wasco Animal Shelter — Closed until further notice, but donations are welcome: nonplumping cat litter, kitten/puppy chow and stainless steel buckets. Drop off donations at the shelter, 18849 Shafter Ave. Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday, 1-7 p.m.

MOFA -- Mexican American Opportunity Foundation of Bakersfield is a vocational training at no cost. Career enhancement classes, externship, computers, typing and GED. Call for more information, 661-336-6821 or email MAOF.org.

Shafter Animal Control — Donations are welcomed: nonplumping cat litter, kitten/puppy chow and stainless steel buckets. Drop off donations at the shelter, 18849 Shafter Ave. Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday 1-7 p.m.

Senior lunches for pickup only — Senior center serving meal Monday-Friday at 11:25 a.m., 1280 Poplar St., Wasco.
