There was a ribbon cutting at the Shafter Farm Labor Camp. They built 84 new housing units at the camp, 17213 Central Valley Hwy.

30 years ago: May 30, 1990

Shafter's city engineer, John Guinn, gave a discussion about adding signal lights to Five Points, where West Lerdo Highway, Shafter Avenue, and the end of Central Avenue meet.
