Pastor's Corner: Faith conquers fear

Fear: "An unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat" (The Oxford Dictionary)

Faith: "Confidence or trust in a person or thing." (dictionary .com)

Mind: "The element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel" (The Oxford Dictionary).

In the Bible, fear created a giant in the minds of armies able to destroy that giant, while faith empowered the mind of a single young man named David to conquer the same giant. Fear is able to reduce armies to cowards in shining armor while faith is able to make a shining star of one believer not afraid to confront any danger, pain or threat.

Fear imprisons. Faith delivers. Fear weakens. Faith strengthens. Fear gives up.

Faith says, "Never give up!" [BEGIN ITAL]]"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."[END ITAL] (Hebrews 11:1). Faith subdues kingdoms, produces victories and overcomes adversity. Faith is not superficial, limited or confined to earthly boundaries, but reaches into the realm of supernatural ability. Fear is governed by negative emotions, circumstances and perceived realities, while faith knows, and trusts, the Author and Finisher of all things.

Faith conquers fear!
