Hundreds drawn to Tin Cup to shop

Hundreds of people turned out to the Tin Cup last Saturday to buy everything from baked bread, makeup, soaps, plants and clothing.

The Coffee and Creations event was packed with vendor booths offering something for everyone in the family. Every $10 a person spent earned them a raffle ticket.

Pop-up events have become popular in the area, propelled by the pandemic, vendor Adrianna Pompa said.

"It really might be because of the pandemic that we have seen success," said Pompa, who makes homemade soaps, scrubs, as well as jewelry.

When her full-time job was put on hold for a time, she decided to put more time into her side business, making products that are eco-friendly and good for sensitive skin.

Another vendor was Haley Plaza. On Saturday, Plaza's Handmade in a Home Bakery was selling different types of breads and bread dips. Plaza sold out long before the event closed for the afternoon.

Vendor Sandy Nimat, who was attending her first pop-up event, said it is amazing to see the turnout.

"I can't believe all of the people here. It has been a really good day," said Nimat.

Nimat said that she got interested last year in resin art. She watched a lot of YouTube videos and learned to make the resin art by trial and error.

"It took awhile to learn how to do it right, but I have loved doing this," said Nimat. "I am looking forward to the next [event]."

Vendors selling clothing included Twenty-Nine Boutique and Saco 79. There were also vendors specializing in beauty products and accessories.

Sisters Tania and Leshly Moreno were selling their homemade candles which come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Their shop is the M Sisters Shop.

Another vendor that was at her first pop-up event was Denys Contreras who raises succulents, cactus and other plants.

Contreras has a home garden that she tends to. She also gets her supplies from Los Angeles, making the trip on a regular basis. Her business is called Hummingbird Garden.

This is definitely not the last event at Tin Cup, according to manager Shakira Willis.

"The turnout was great and all of the vendors said that they had really good days," said Willis.
