The Tin Cup in Shafter was the spot for a great time on Saturday as they hosted The Easter Bunny, attracting a large crowd of families who had their pictures taken and had a delicious lunch.
Every child who attended also received a cookie decorating kit to spruce up their cookies in a variety of ways, letting their creative juices flow. There were tons of sprinkles, glitter, frosting, and candies as all of the children had fun decorating their own creations.
The coffee shop was open, serving a variety of sandwiches, coffees, teas, and other yummy goodies. One attendee who enjoyed the festivities was Mariana Rivera. Rivera brought her three kids and nephew to the event, each getting to create their own egg cookie. "This is such a great event. They loved meeting the Easter Bunny and making their own cookies. I cant wait to get their cookies and display them at the house, if I can keep them from eating them."
The event was just one of a number of great things that are happening at the local Ford Theater complex. The venue just recently hosted well-attended performances of the Broadway smash "Newsies", put on by the Shafter Young Adult Theater, as well as a very popular po-up event that drew over 50 vendors to the site, selling everything from clothing to beauty supplies and candles.
Stay tuned as another, bigger pop-up event is on tap for late April, named Coffee and Creative. This event will have over 70 vendors in attendance, with the majority of them local entrepreneurs displaying their home business creations.
