Serving the community since 1922

Customer service is always first at H & A Automotive

Finding a trusty and reliable mechanic can be a challenge. Luckily for those looking for value and expertise, H & A Automotive is here to serve with a full range of services and 100% guaranteed work.

"We are loyal, and our goal is to take care of our customers in the right way," said owner Jose Robledo in a recent interview.

They offer a wide selection of services, including rebuilding engines, transmission replacements, brakes and complete exhaust overhauls.

"We are the only radiator shop left in Wasco or Shafter. You would have to travel to Bakersfield or Tulare for the closest automotive repair business that can rebuild and reconstruct radiators," Robledo said. "Anything that has to do with radiators, we can handle."

They do a lot of work for schools and farmers, and have many industrial clients who trust them with their automotive needs.

The shop has been locally owned since opening in 1985. Robledo started sweeping floors and, in 1999, transitioned to a mechanic role. In 2007, he had an opportunity to become the owner and has run the shop since then.

"I was first hired to help with customer service because we have so many clients that are Spanish speakers," said Robledo.

H & A Automotive has a strong team of mechanics, with a combined total of 40 years of experience. Robledo has 23 years working in the automotive world.

Bradley Hoover has been with the company since 2010.

"What I love most about working here are our customers. I enjoy being able to help people and provide them with quality work. This, I believe, makes us stand out from the rest," he said.

"I know we are the best because our clients tell us so," said Hoover. "We have a friendly environment and provide superior service at a very reasonable price compared to others."

Robledo said of his team, "That is why we are great. I wouldn't be here without them."

"I can trust them, and that makes the business run smoothly. Being a business owner can be tough, but life is easier when you have a solid team."

H & A Automotive values the Wasco community.

"I consider Wasco my home, and it is important to treat the community with respect and support."

The shop has for many years sponsored local sports, such as Wasco High School baseball, football and cheer teams.

"I do this to help Wasco thrive. It gives me great pleasure knowing that I am giving back to the community that has allowed me to stay in business all these years," said Robledo. "Building stronger youth, I believe, will help the city in the long run. If they succeed, that benefits all of us."

H & A Automotive, 2001 Highway 46, is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 661-758-5155. Walk-ins also are welcomed.
