Shafter High teacher and local artist Joaquin Patino was invited to the Plaza De La Raza Art Festival in Los Angeles. The MEChA adisor sold all 125 pieces of his Mexican cultural artwork.

After 40 years, Insect Lore founder Carlos White decided to close his Entomology Museum. The museum brought visitors from all over to share the knowledge of insects.
