Rosemary McGowen Lomeli, of Shafter, died October 22, 2022, in Bakersfield, after a brave, hard-fought battle with cancer. Rosie, 74, was born on Dec. 31, 1947, to Royce and Opal McGowen in Little Rock, Ark. In 1952, the family moved to Shafter, where she lived until recently, when she moved to Bakersfield to be closer to family. She always considered Shafter home.
