    Starsky came into the Wasco animal Shelter as a stray and is an approximately 2-4 years old. He's a male cane corso. He is great with staff and other dogs and can be described as friendly, gentle, playful, protective and quiet. It is unknown if Starsky is house/crate trained at the time.     Shafter Animal Control would like local residents to meet their beautiful girl Mandy. She is a 2- year-old brindle hound mix and has shown shelter staff that she is good with other dogs and just wants to be a lap dog. Mandy is a little timid at first but when she warms up to you, she is super sweet. She is strong, so they would recommend a strong handler. Some obedience training would be a good idea.     Wasco High School hosted its annual 'Powder Puff' flag football game, where senior girls went head to head against girls from the junior class. Activities coordinator Hailey Coyle said it was a great turnout. "Both classes had a lot of fun. Overall, it was a success." The game is a long-standing tradition for WHS.
