Shafter Animal Control

Athena is a white Great Pyrenees mix.

Meet our beautiful girl named Athena! Athena is a white Great Pyrenees mix who is about 2 years old. She weighs 65 pounds and is a happy go lucky girl! Athena is available for adoption and is looking for a family to love her unconditionally! She loves to go out on walks and chase balls for you. Taking treats from you is another of her favorite things to do. Athena has done well when meeting other dogs and has passed her Safer dog evaluations.

Athena will need a strong handler when going out for walks. If you would like to meet Athena, please come out to the Shafter Animal Shelter. She would love to meet you!

If you have not already, please view our home page at Our web site will answer many questions that you may have about adopting from us. We cannot recommend any dog as "good with children," since there is no way to be certain that they are safe for children. The age of the animal is an estimation that has been based on the knowledge and training of the shelter staff. If you have further questions, e-mail [email protected] or call 661-746-2140. E-mail is not checked on Sundays or holidays. The shelter is at 18849 S. Shafter Ave.
