Man killed in 4th Wasco shooting since Dec.

A 23-year-old Wasco man was killed during a shooting on Feb. 20.

The shooting occurred in the 500 block of D Street at around 9:30 p.m. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene for multiple reports of shots fired in the area.

Guillermo Leon was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead by emergency responders. A postmortem examination will be conducted to confirm the cause and manner of death, deputies said.

There are no details regarding what led up to the shooting, and no suspect information was immediately available.

This homicide marks the fourth shooting in Wasco since December.

The most recent occurred on Feb. 16 in the 2400 block of Sharon Court. They found Christopher Aaron Regalado, 31, deceased due to a gunshot wound when law enforcement arrived.

On Feb. 9, a man was shot in the face during a failed robbery attempt near 8th and E Street. He was airlifted by helicopter to Kern Medical Center, but was later discharged from the hospital.

Two men were shot in the 1500 block of G Street on Dec. 4. Guadalupe Chavez, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene and the other victim was treated and later released from Kern Medical Center.
