Crowd waits for Santa last year.

The Minter Field Air Museum will be getting a special visitor on Saturday morning, and they are preparing for the VIP.

Santa Claus will be landing at Minter Field in an airplane, giving his reindeer a rest, as they prepare for the long trek on New Year's Eve. Santa will be accompanied by Mrs. Claus and will be handing out stuffed animals to all children attending the event.

The stuffed animals are courtesy of Pets Smart on Ming Avenue in Bakersfield.

According to Minter Field Air Museum President Ronald Pierce, the event will include gifts for all of the kids, as well as refreshments available for those visiting the North Pole resident.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Santa scheduled to touch down at Minter Field at 11 a.m.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early enough to get a good vantage point for the arrival, as well as being toward the front of the line waiting to talk with Santa Claus.
