Serving the community since 1922
Dec. 2, 1957 – Dec. 23, 2023
Michael Elvis Hale passed into the arms of Jesus on Dec. 23, 2023, at age 66. He passed away in his loving home in Hoffman, Minn., while holding the hand of his daughter.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1957, in Bakersfield. He was the last of six children for Robert and Dorothy Hale. He spent most of his school years in the Wasco area making many lifelong friends.
Mike was married on Oct. 14, 1977, to Debbie Ann Mulkey, in Wasco. He worked in the agriculture business while they raised their two children.
Mike moved to Minnesota in 2000 and moved to Hoffman in 2006. He spent his summers working in the hay in California and his winters caring for his grandchildren in Minnesota. In 2013, he went to paint a building at Andes Tower Hills ski area and RV park, and became maintenance manager within two weeks.
He was very proud of his work and his crew, but his greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed his church, and his faith held strong until the end.
Michael is survived by his wife, Debbie Hale; son Nichael Hale(Ashley) of Breezy Point, Minn.; daughter Jessah Hale of Hoffman, Minn.; and bonus son Michael Kent (Amber) of Redwood Falls, Minn; his three sisters, Betty Smith (Ed), Barbara Anderson (Gary) and Cindy Anderson (Chris); and one brother, William Hale (Dena). His is also survived by grandchildren Baylor Kardell, Alexis Hale (Zach Carrick), Jason Hale, Madison Hale, Annabella Hale, Dania Hale, Danika Kent and Maci Kent; and great grandchild Harlee Mae Carrick; and lifelong friends Melissa Kent, Christine Hale, Lori Roeman, Shaylee Anderson and the Anderson family.
With such a large family he was a favorite uncle/great uncle to many. You didn't have to be blood to be family to Mike.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hale; mother Dorothy Holt; stepfather Raymond Holt; and sister Evie Gallop.
