Barber Bros launched in 2023 and has since developed a reputation for its commitment to quality service and its vibrant, friendly atmosphere.
Owner Luis Magallanes said he started the business because of all the luxuries afforded by being an entrepreneur: "I wanted the freedom to make my schedule and have the flexibility to spend time with my growing family."
Magallanes is a Wasco native and thought the city was the perfect place to open the barbershop. He's familiar with the town and thinks it's a great community.
"I've been here my whole life. We all know each other."
As the owner of Barber Bros, he enjoys meeting new people and providing good service to his clientele. "It was a challenge in the beginning, but now it doesn't feel like work at all, and it's a lot of fun."
He has a staff of two and prides himself on the welcoming ambiance.
"It's always good vibes in the shop. We laugh, make jokes and try to make our guests feel at home. Plus, our prices are affordable."
"We only charge $25 a haircut, $35 for a haircut and beard, and $45 for a haircut, beard and hot towel shave."
They do all modern haircuts, including fades, gentlemen's cuts, frohaux, tapers, edgars and burst fades.
His clients seem to be happy. Adrian Soto is one of them. "I've been a customer since they opened," he said. "It's good. I keep coming back. The best part of their work is it makes me feel young again. I come out with a new haircut, and it brings that confidence back. It makes you feel good about yourself."
Magallanes has an experienced team. Barber Benjamin Carmona has been a part of the shop from the beginning and enjoys working there. "It's one big family. We all help each other. We're unique to other barbershops."
Another barber, Junior Magallanes, added, "I love it. It's like my second home. I love coming in in the morning. It's a lot of fun. The environment is amazing, and the customers love it too."
Of the quality of their work, he said, "Our styling is different and the most up to date."
He added there is a special camaraderie between the team. "We tend to support one another. We're growing and learning together, and we give each other a hand."
"So we're a tight knight group, and that helps us make sure it's a great experience for our customers," Magallanes explained.
He said he hopes to expand his business. "I am learning content creation so I can make videos online and take my business to another level. I want to be greater. This is not where it ends. It's only the beginning."
