Kenneth "Eddie" Waldron

Nov. 14, 1957 – Feb. 4, 2024

Kenneth Edward "Eddie" Waldron was born in Wasco on Nov. 14, 1957. He passed peacefully on the early morning of Feb. 4, 2024, in Lenexa, Kan.

Eddie grew up in the Central Valley of California and spent most of his life in Bakersfield before moving to Kansas in 2020. He worked for Kern Oil Refinery for most of his career before his health caused him to retire early.

He loved his family and enjoyed picking up the food tab for whoever was with him. He worked hard all his life and enjoyed spoiling those he cared about the most. He took pride in his black Dodge Challenger, likely driving it way too fast on most occasions. He also enjoyed fishing and taking cruises. He deeply loved his mother, Mildred.

Eddie loved his sports teams, the Anaheim Angels, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Las Vegas Raiders! He would talk Raiders football with anyone that would listen, and he wore his team gear with pride.

The most valuable gift he gave others was his time. Especially over the last few years, he cherished his phone and in-person conversations with friends and family. And if you could bring him something sweet to eat, you were his best friend.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Marvin Waldron (1994) and Mildred Harlene Phillips Waldron (2020); his sister, Anita Denise Waldron (2020); and his daughter, Tiffany Lynn Zamora (2023).

He is survived by his ex-wife, Kelly Koolmes (Jean); his son, Lee Waldron (Sara); his grandchildren, Allyson Bocanegra-Bergman (Carlos), Gage Bergman, Emily Ronich, Daniel Zamora, Kenneth Zamora, Lydia Waldron, Penelope Waldron and Hezekiah Waldron; one great-grandchild Xander Bocanegra-Bergman; his sister, Laurie Day (Chuck); and his nieces, Brandy Holt (Jaime) and Jessica Fitzgerald (Armand).

A memorial service for Eddie will be held Friday, April 5, beginning at 10 a.m. at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco. Immediately following will be a graveside committal service at Wasco Memorial Park, where he will be laid to rest with his parents and his sister.
