A Sound the Alarm event is coming to Shafter on Saturday, May 20, with residents of Shafter receiving free fire alarms.
Home fires claim seven lives every day, and this event is intended to reduce those losse. Volunteers are needed for the event.
No prior experience is necessary; training is provided. Volunteers may be asked to wear a mask at a resident’s request, and they will be provided.
Those interested are asked to go to GROW Academy in Shafter at 471 W. Los Angeles Ave. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
