Trojans get a glimpse of future home

The eighth grade students at Richland Junior High got a glimpse of their future recently when they took a field trip to Shafter High School.

The Trojans had a chance to meet some Generals, as well as visit classrooms and tour the campus. A lot of the students enjoyed the look into their future. Students took part in a rally at the gym, and ate lunch in the cafeteria. They met the Shafter General mascot face to face, and took part in a quick orientation of the school and its surroundings.

Shafter High Principal Russell Shipley welcomed the Trojans and told them that he looked forward to the day that he could call them Shafter Generals.

It was an exciting time for the Trojans as well as the Generals looking into their past.

Richland Superintendent Rosa Romero said, "It was such a great time for the kids. They were so excited to see the campus and what they are going to be doing just a few short months from now."
